Invergordon was established in the 1700s by the Gordons of Invergordon, and the harbour was established in 1828. It was used by the Navy from the 19th century until 1956 when the naval base closed, and that is where your ship will be docking.

Invergordon is also home to the Stoltman Brothers Tom Stoltman winning the worlds strongest man title in 2021, 2022 and again in 2024 and his brother Luke has won Scotland's strongest man 2013-17
European Strongest man 2021 and 2024
Britain's Strongest man 2025

It's here finally, with just over a month to wait for our first cruise ship to arrive for the 2025 tour season. At the moment, I believe we will see around 92 cruise ships coming into the port this year, starting from April 16th, 2025."
From the Port of Call in Invergordon, there are many ways to travel to Inverness. First is the No.25, 25A, and 25X Stagecoach buses departing from near the Co-op on Invergordon High Street. click here for the time table https://www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables
Next is our local train service, taking around 45 minutes directly to Inverness. You can book your tickets and see available times from https://www.thetrainline.com/
You will find the local taxi service usually parked inside the main gates of the base over to the right before you get to the main road.
There is nothing better than travelling in the comfort and safety of someone who knows and understands the local area. Here at Highland Discovery Tours, we have that covered with a choice of vehicles with drivers or guides to many locations, including Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, Dunrobin Castle (home to the Dukes and Earls of Sutherland), Whisky Distillery Tours, and more. Our advice is to know who you're dealing with; check reviews to be sure.

Do not use booking platforms; try and find the people directly. This could save you up to 40% on the price of your tour, as we have to add their commission on top of our standard prices. Although the cancellation policies may differ if you cancel, this is your hard-earned cash, and we would like you to enjoy it.
